Who Will Take Manhattan on BravoTV's "Top Chef" tonight...
08/25/2007 13:51
So here we
are nearing the end of season three of
"Top
Chef" whereby
tonight's N.Y.C.
episode
takes us down to the final four who will compete for
this year's title of "Top
Chef". I know
who I'd like to see win, but I think it's really up
in the air they're all quite viable. In fact, I think
season three chefs are a very, very talented group of
chefs. I also love that LeAnne
Wong has joined
the production staff for the show, what a
win-win-win, for her, for Bravo
TV and for us
viewers! Perhaps this is why both the quick fire and
elimination challenges have increased in creativity
and complexity this season; it's made for some
fantastic television.
Sidebar; Bravo when are you going to upgrade to HD? I can't wait to enjoy your programming in HD.
OK, back to tonight's episode and where we're at in the competition. We're down to five chefs after C.J.'s broccolini disaster last week. The chefs left standing for tonight are Brian, Casey, Dale, Hung and Sara (sorry no bio. link for Sara @ BravoTV) and tonight one of them is going home leaving us with our final four. There's a clip below to tide you over until we find out later tonight. Enjoy and thank you for visiting blogMerit.

"Top Chef's" Padma Lakshmi Talks About Objectivity...

I've been watching "Top
Chef"
from the beginning. Remember season one and the
pretty but boring Mrs. Billy Joel [yawn]. Granted
she's probably one of the prettier fish mongers
around but she was such a flat-liner, she brought no
juice to the show. Jump to season two with
Padma Lakshmi
whose energy comes right through the TV screen. I
also like the chemistry between she and
Tom Colicchio
as well as the chef contestants. I loved the episode
this season where she enters the penthouse and wakes
up the chefs, C.J.'s comments to Padma were
hilarious. We couldn't see Padma's face but if you
listen she burst out laughing in response to C.J.
remark. It's fun, she brings her unique style and
energy to the show. Padma rocks! Watch this behind
the scenes clip of her explaining her roll on the
show.

I Confess...

My friend brought two of those new Bertolli Frozen
Dinners;
Chicken Parmigiana and Penne.
I also tried the
Shrimp, Asparagus & Penne.
Well, I was surprised how good the are. First of all
the photography on the packaging makes the product
look very enticing. There are three immediate reasons
these products work and they are; the
Bertolli reputation,
quality of the ingredients and the fact that each
item, including the sauce is frozen separately, it's
obvious when you open the product and pour into your
skillet. The ready in 10 minutes over a medium flame
is also an accurate claim! I mean, come on truly ten
minutes after you've opened the package you have this
tasty Italian dinner. Yum! My favorite of the two
flavors I've tried so far is the
Chicken Parmigiana
and Penne but it was already an Italian favorite of
mine. So, I decided I would share my experience with
some links so you can learn more about the product.
Oh, and if the
Bertolli
name rings a bell and you don't know why check what
brand of olive oil you have in the cupboard. Good
eats!
