"The Slobification of America" -- Tim Gunn on "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style"
I heard
Tim Gunn
use this great expression in one of the commercials
for upcoming episodes he said, "...the slobification
{sp?} of America" on his new reality, makeover show,
"Tim
Gunn's Guide to Style".
This is something that's bothered me for years
and
Tim Gunn
has so saliently summed up this American style crisis
with this fantastic expression. I have to say I
wasn't sure about the show before it started but I
want to go on the record and state that I'm really
enjoying the show and I like the interaction between
him and
Veronica Webb.
Based upon what we know of
Tim Gunn
from his mentorship role on
Bravo's
hit, "Project
Runway"
he steps right into this role with absolute
credibility. His resume is certainly impressive and I
was thrilled to read about his new role at
Liz Claiborne.
He strikes me a genuinely sincere man with incredible
knowledge to help these women really see themselves
and come out on the other side with the confidence
and knowledge to dress, and shop. Shopping is fun,
it's some sort of magic when you put on the perfect
article of clothing, its transformational in the
context of the immediate boost of confidence it can
instill. So, back to "Tim
Gunn's Guide to Style"
give it try it's on on
Bravo TV
on Thursdays at 10 / 9c. I myself joined the
time-shifting
DVR
set years ago and I can't imagine living without
a
DVR.
I love to setup a series recording for a show like
this and then I can watch it when it suits me. Don't
forget Tim Gunn's book, "Guide
to Style"
- his knowledge and mentorship are available for
on-going reference if you buy yourself a copy.

More on this well written and produced gem in a separate post but in the meantime check out a video clip of the show right here.

Does anyone know who's behind this campaign? Here's a
button that will put you through to their website.
I've seen their TV commercials all over on different
channels. Call me cynical but I'd like to know whose
money is financing this expensive tv / media
campaign. If anyone knows please post a comment here
on the blog so we can investigate who's behind this.
Thanks.
Just watched another BBC America show I Love...

I just watched "Gordon
Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares"
on
BBC America.
Sure he's arrogant and gets in the restaurant owner's
face but so what. He's successful as a chef/owner and
it makes for great television. I just watched a
really great episode about a mother and her two
daughters and they all three own and run the
restaurant. As usual when Gordon came in the place
had it's issues the biggest of which is the mother
daughter triad had never defined who's responsible
for what management tasks. Suffice it to say he got
to the root of the problem. Anyway, it's another fun,
informative
BBC America
show starring successful . Check it out you'll enjoy
I'm sure. Happy reading.
